SeattleBank had a quaint little "don't forget local banks too :x" ad in the paper today.

What are your thought about local banks? My husband has been intermittently looking for a credit union for us for some months, but there's also a small local bank that's got about 35 branches, been around since 1905, and will reimburse fees for using big banks' ATMs. Anyone ever worked with a place like this? Anything I should be concerned about?

I have been a customer of a credit union for several years. No fees when you use ATM cards, one cashiers check free a month, free faxes and free notary service. One small complaint, when I cash in my change they round it to the nearest dollar; the change, because they do not handle it, goes into my account.
